National Sales Manager

Duties

  • Identify new business opportunities; service existing accounts; and tailor sales opportunities unique to each client.
  • Interacts with sales representatives and media planners from national advertising firms.
  • Track station's sales metrics.
  • Manage inventory and work with traffic department to ensure orders placed get moved through the system seamlessly.
  • Negotiate buys and reserve commercial airtime.
  • Oversee all national revenue, driving share and engage media buyers and planners across the U.S.
  • Handles all political advertising for the station.

Qualifications

  • Great people and negotiation skills.

Experience Level

  • A bachelor's degree in business or a related degree is preferred.
  • Direct experience in national broadcast transactions business.
  • Demonstrated success in broadcast spot TV agency sales.
  • Extensive knowledge of TV station inventory.

Note: a "spot" refers to a commercial that is scheduled to air during a specific "spot" in a program, running at an exact time on a specific day, for a specified amount of time vs. a commercial that airs in a more fluid rotation.
