Traffic Anchor/Producer
This position can also be called Traffic Reporter.
Duties
- Provides real-time information on local traffic patterns and accidents and gives advice on congested areas and alternate routes. This is especially important to listeners during the morning and evening commutes.
- Researches and writes traffic reports, including weather-related traffic impacts.
- Reads public service announcements or voices commercials, depending on employment status as part time or full time.
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable about editing software to create online and social media content.
- Knowledgeable about traffic data software and familiarity with the region's byways, mass transit systems and typical commuting patterns.
Experience level
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Prior on-air broadcast experience is preferred.
