Engineering Technician
Duties
- Helps the assistant director of technology (or assistant chief engineer) operate and maintain the engineering and production equipment at the station.
- Provides tech support for equipment, manages repairs, helps install and maintain transmission equipment and ensures the station remains within FCC technical parameters.
- Configures, installs, maintains and tests operating systems and essential software to keep servers functioning and troubleshoots on-air operations.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with IP for broadcast equipment set up and operation required, as well as the ability to repair a personal computer.
Experience Level
- An associate degree in communications or electronics is preferred.
- Experience in and knowledge of broadcast television operations and FCC rules, video streaming technology and the ability to work on both IP-based and legacy broadcast equipment.
This is a job requiring those in the position to be on call and work a variety of shifts as needed.
