Duties
- Writes news stories, shoots, edits and packages them for broadcast and online, with a primary concentration on delivering content for the station's digital platforms.
- Pitches story ideas during planning meetings, arranges interviews, conducts research and fact-checks copy for content, grammar and accuracy according to a specific style guide, such as the Associated Press.
- Appears typically on platforms other than the traditional over the air, depending on the size of the station. This may be contingent on the contract a station has with local unions, which might limit the number of on-air appearances and/or require them to work with a union photographer in order to appear on air.
Qualifications
- Excellent writing skills and knowledge of digital media platforms.
Experience Level
- A bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism or related field.
- At least two years of experience.
