Chief Meteorologist

Duties

• Leads a team of weather reporters who serve important roles educating their communities about important issues such as global warming and climate change.
• Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of weather science and forecasting.
• Excels at utilizing weather forecasting equipment and other technical tools.
• Reports in studio and also live in the field during newsworthy weather events.
• Makes regular appearances in the community in support of station outreach projects and to promote the station brand.

Qualifications

• A deep passion for weather that can be traced back to childhood is a plus.

Experience Level

• A bachelor's degree in meteorology or a related science is preferred.
• Weather anchor experience at a mid- or large-market broadcast TV station is required.
