Meteorologist

Duties

• Forecasts the weather accurately and understands how to translate weather data into relevant information for viewers, especially in communities that experience harsh climates or sudden shifts in weather.
• Interprets high-powered radar data and gives viewers relevant news about daily and weekly weather forecasts.
• Supplies weather data to the station's online platforms, using graphics and other visual tools.

Qualifications

• A strong science background and knowledgeable about the technical tools used in weather forecasting.

Experience Level

• A bachelor's degree in meteorology or a related science is preferred.
• Prior experience reporting live on the weather in the field, as well as anchor experience is required.
