Sports Director

Duties

• Produces and anchors the sports portion of newscasts and serves as a role model and mentor for the station's sports reporters.
• Assists in researching, writing, editing and producing sports content for all platforms.
• Reports on breaking news events live in the field.
• Develops close working relationships with coaches and players on local, regional and national levels.
• Participates in promotional activities and outside events to bring further visibility and awareness to the station brand.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated passion for everything related to sports.

Experience Level

• A bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in sports reporting or anchoring.
• Prior experience as an athlete is a plus.
